How old does a lease on a flat have to be to make it NOT worthwhile? Opinions on leaseholds welcome (UK)? - uk lease pots pbx

I want to rent an apartment and I'm not sure. I fear that the leases for the price reduction that you can then sell. I know you have the right to extend its lease for 99 years after living there for 2 years, but I found no example of how much it will cost. Any help is appreciated (United Kingdom, and hope that there are very different in other places).
